Sources reveal that the Swiss authorities rejected Darshan's visa application citing his criminal background, specifically the ongoing investigation into a high-profile murder case in Karnataka. Despite securing permission from the 64th CCH court in Bengaluru to travel to Dubai and Europe starting July 14, the change in plans became necessary after the visa denial.
In light of this, Darshan’s legal team applied for new travel permission, which the court approved — allowing him to participate in film shooting in Thailand starting July 11 for several days. The Devil film's production team has swiftly shifted the shooting location and is now setting up new sets in various parts of Thailand that align with the script’s requirements.

This visa rejection comes as another major blow to Darshan’s public image, which is already under strain due to his alleged involvement in the murder case — a matter that has caused ripples across the Kannada film industry.
Despite the serious legal troubles, Darshan continues his professional commitments without pause. By complying with legal procedures and securing travel permissions through court, he is attempting to maintain normalcy in his film career.
According to the filmmakers, shooting will proceed without delay, with all necessary preparations already in place.
