Investigation Status:Special Investigation Team (SIT): On July 19, 2025, the Karnataka government formed an SIT led by Pronab Mohanty, Director General of Police (Internal Security Division), with IPS officers M.N. Anucheth, Soumyalatha S.K., and Jitendra Kumar Dayama. The SIT is tasked with probing the allegations, related criminal cases, missing persons, and unnatural deaths in Dharmasthala over the past two decades. Operating from the Dakshina Kannada District Police Office, it must submit regular updates to the state police chief.
