On Saturday, Jaishankar expressed strong opposition to the U.S. decision to impose the additional 25% tariff on Indian goods for purchasing Russian oil. Despite ongoing trade negotiations with Washington, with only a few days left before the additional U.S. tariffs take effect, New Delhi must consider some resolute measures. Due to the increased purchase of Russian oil, Indian goods now face tariffs of up to 50%, among the highest imposed by the U.S. The initial 25% tariff is already in effect, with the remaining 25% set to be enforced from August 27.
