Former Maharashtra Governor and NDA candidate C.P. Radhakrishnan has been elected as the 15th Vice President of India, securing a decisive victory with 452 first-preference votes. Opposition candidate, Justice B. Sudarshan Reddy, received 300 votes. Out of 767 total votes, 752 were valid. The election was necessitated after Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar resigned on July 21, 2025, due to health reasons. Radhakrishnan’s win reflects the NDA’s strategic vote management and parliamentary strength.
